CPP & XCEL

Canadian Provincial Program – CPP (Formally the JO Program)
Gymnastics Canada has adopted the CPP Program to provide direction and foster competition for different age groups of girls and young women of various levels of ability and commitment. The CPP Program consists of 10 levels. The CPP program was developed with the belief that all athletes must have a solid foundation of basic skills in order to advance safely to higher levels. This program is geared towards gymnasts who want to take their technique, commitment, training hours and future skill development beyond what the other programs can provide.

This is a program best suited for athletes with a strong work ethic who enjoy competing, want to develop high-level gymnastic skills and are committed to training 3 times a week or more. Artistic gymnastics at this level requires regular attendance, continued progression and long term commitment.

XCEL Program

XCEL is an alternative competitive program offering individual flexibility to coaches and gymnasts. The goal of XCEL is to provide gymnasts of varying abilities and commitment levels with the opportunity for a rewarding competitive gymnastics experience. Athletes will compete Optional routines fulfilling 4 Special Requirements on each apparatus. This program will give gymnasts the opportunity to train and compete skills and routines that suit their strengths rather than competing compulsory content as is in the CPP program.  The XCEL Program offers five different levels; Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond.
